Since the release of version 3.000 a few small issues have appeared. These
have been resolved in incremental version 3.002. The workarounds remain
applicable to version 3.000.
System affected: Orville/R
Issue: EVE/NET initialization
During the first restart after the upgrade the system will ask whether to
clear the internal setup. The problem is that the EveNet screen is not alive at
this point so the system appears to hang, with the blue power light flashing and
the green update light lit steadily.
Workaround: Happily, the Evenet console keys are active, so hit the second soft
key from the left to answer "yes" to the above question, and the
system will then continue its normal startup routine. Future startups will
operate normally.
System affected: Orville, Orville/R
Issue: MIDI Program Change messages
MIDI Program change messages above base+2 will load Orville routings, where
base is the MIDI base channel setting (Setup/MIDI screen). Base+2 should indeed
load the routing, but channels above this should have no
effect.
Workaround: neither use channels above base+2 nor use base -1. Set base to a
high value so that base-1 is above all other channels if connecting multiple
systems to the same MIDI.
System affected: Orville, Orville/R, DSP7500
Issue: Sampler recording sample rate
When making a sampler recording while the system is using an external clock, the
sample rate can be stored wrongly, causing a pitch change during playback.
Workaround: perform all sampler recordings on internal clock at 48K sampling,
using sample rate conversion on digital I/O where necessary. On playback, they
will be automatically sample-rate-converted to match the
playback sample rate.
System affected: DSP7000,7500
Issue: MIDI Program Change messages
MIDI Program change messages above base will cause a "file not
found" message, where base is the MIDI base channel setting (Setup/MIDI
screen).
Workaround: neither use channels above base nor use base -1. Set base to a
high value so that base-1 is above all other channels if connecting multiple
systems to the same MIDI.
