Several upgrade kits are available for the Eventide line of H3000 and H3500 Ultra-Harmonizers. This guide will help you to determine which features you have and what upgrade options are available. This guide only covers ROM software upgrades. Sampler boards are also available. You will be encouraged to find that all of the H3000 and H3500 Ultra-Harmonizers can be upgraded to include all available features (with the exception of a few presets unique to and only available in the H3500dfx and H3500dfx/e).
When you install an upgrade kit you combine the features of what you had with what you added. Installing an upgrade kit will not take any features away.
All Ultra-Harmonizers have the model number printed over the display. As the upgrades are done internally by adding software EPROMs, the front panel nomenclature will not apply if the internal software has been upgraded. Check your algorithms and presets with those listed below to confirm if your H3000 has upgrades installed.
You can tell if you have the first model of H3000 ever made because it will have a black front panel with yellow buttons. The front panel will say H3000 (not H3000-B). If you have an original H3000 and have never upgraded it, the following EPROMs will be installed: BIGROM1, BIGROM2.
The presets are sound effects written from algorithms installed in your unit. Algorithms are adjusted to create different effects and stored as presets. The original algorithms or any of the presets may be used for signal processing. The algorithms and presets are stored in ROM and cannot be deleted. The user may create unique presets by adjusting any algorithm or preset to the desired parameters and storing the new settings in battery-backed, NV SRAM. These new presets can be deleted if desired. All presets have an "origin" key that, when pressed, will display the algorithm that the preset was written from.
D/SXCONKIT - Used for upgrading the original H3000 Ultra Harmonizer to the new H3000-D/SX. Contains the following features:

Steve Vai Presets - The Vai presets (700-747) are included in both the D/SECONKIT and D/SXCONKIT!
BCONKIT - Used to add the features of the H3000-B-Ultra Harmonizer to the H3000, H3000-D/SX, H3000-D/SE, H3500dfx, H3500dfx/e. The unique features of the H3000-B are the Timesqueeze option and the presets written specifically for broadcast use. This allows you to hook-up the H3000-B to a frequency controllable, variable speed tape machine for time compression and expansion. Particularly useful for broadcasters who need to fit commercial spots into specific time-frames. Also used by professional studios to get that once-in-a-lifetime, 3.2 second solo to fit into a 3 second segment of the song. Contains the following features:

BROM - Adds all presets unique to the H3000-B Ultra Harmonizer (does not include Timesqueeze option). You may install this EPROM into any H3000-SE, H3000-D/SE, H3500dfx, or H3500dfx/e.
