EVENTIDE PROVIDES ICELAND'S RUV WITH REVERB TO GO

Iceland National Broadcast Service looks to Eventide for natural sound processing during live transmissions

Little Ferry, New Jersey, March 21, 2006 - Iceland's National Broadcast Service, RUV, has incorporated the Eventide Reverb 2016 in its primary broadcast station in Reykjavík, Iceland. A long-time user of Eventide's H3000 Ultra-Harmonizer, RUV has installed the Reverb 2016 as a standalone solution in one of its multipurpose OB vans for on-site processing and mixing during most live transmissions ranging from religious services to concerts. The station has also installed an additional Reverb 2016 unit in its main television studio where the effects are used for classical and jazz music broadcasts, as well as popular dramas that are broadcast.

"When we first witnessed the Eventide Reverb 2016 in person, it seemed like an interesting and cost-effective solution for our growing live broadcast needs," said Bjarni Runar Bjarnason, RUV tonmeister and music recording producer. "Since we have had a chance to install the product and use it during our broadcast, it has lived up to every expectation that we have had. A friendly user interface gives us quick access to the Reverb 2016's natural reverb effect and enhances the overall sound that we can provide."

RÚV (The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service) began operation in 1930 and is an independent public service broadcaster. RUV is the main state broadcaster for Iceland, operating one television channel and two radio channels, and broadcasts a mixture of general programming, including arts and music, media, current affairs, sports, news, documentary and children's programming to the entire country. RÚV uses the tallest radio mast in Western Europe, the Longwave radio mast Hellissandur, for its longwave transmissions on 189 kHz.

Eventide's Reverb 2016 includes the legendary reverb algorithms Stereo Room, Room Reverb and High Density Plate. Featuring a high performance 24-bit DSP, 24-bit analog audio I/O, digital I/O and MIDI interface, the Reverb 2016 is designed as a dedicated reverb box with an easy-to-use, menu-free user interface, with dedicated controls for each of the effect's parameters. The Reverb 2016's panel controls are optimized for studio and live performance with the ability to store up to 99 user presets.
