AVRIL LAVIGNE GUITARIST DEVIN BRONSON HOOKED ON EVENTIDE ECLIPSE

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, October 7, 2005 - Performing night after night in venues all around the world was the easy part for Devin Bronson, lead guitarist for Avril Lavigne. Replicating the same rich textured tone night-in and night-out proved difficult, but not anymore. Bronson has installed an Eventide Eclipse™ as the foundation to his guitar rig to guarantee consistent performance with a wide array of functions.

Bronson, a seasoned session musician at only 22 years of age, first became familiar with Eventide through the H3000 Ultra-Harmonizer effects processor. Utilized in countless studio sessions, Bronson learned the H3000 was capable of running complex algorithms for virtually any tone or effect he needed. Eventually, he sought an Eventide unit that he could seamlessly incorporate into his rig that would deliver the same functionality with reliable performance.

"I have always loved the sounds of the H3000 but never could add it to my rig due to the latency of switching," said Bronson. "My tone live was a combo of a very organic feed (straight from my guitar) and a very effected feed that included a rainbow of floor pedals. I wanted to consolidate my rig to make live setups easier. The Eclipse seemed to merge all these different units into one while giving me the sounds I loved from the H3000."

Among the effects to instantly catch Bronson's ear was the diverse reverb presets. Said Bronson, "I find the intense altering of reverb to be the most sonically arresting effect from the Eclipse. For my style of playing, combining a reverb preset with a chorus delay effect provides an incredible soundscape for solos. I recently used the Deathflange2 setting on a female vocalist I was recording and the sound was amazing. Everyone who hears it asks where the sound came from."

Bronson's Eclipse won't be limited to live applications. After the current Lavigne tour wraps, Bronson plans to take the Eclipse into the studio. "I think playing with it in the studio will give me more options for possible abstract texturing of tracks. Either way, the Eclipse can add some serious craziness to your tone."

Bronson joined Lavigne in August 2004 and the ride has been nonstop since. Her extensive touring schedule has allowed Bronson to visit countries all around the world and play legendary venues, such as Knebworth and Budokan.

Hailing from Valencia, California, Bronson made music a profession while still in high school. His past groups and credits include stints with Kelly Osbourne, NEO, Treble Charger, and Elizabeth Nicole. When not on the road Bronson can be found doing session work on both coasts. Right now Bronson is just enjoying the opportunity to perform live and see the world. You can find more information about his travels and upcoming projects at www.devinbronson.com.
