IRELAND'S DAVY SPILLANE USES EVENTIDE FOR HIS SIGNATURE SOUND

LITTLE FERRY, New Jersey, January 7, 2005 - Davy Spillane has often been praised for producing the sound of Ireland's expansive landscape. Spillane's unique uilleann pipes playing is ubiquitous throughout the music and film score world and he credits his longtime use of Eventide effects for making his signature sound possible. Spillane is now enhancing his sound and production capabilities with the addition of the Eventide DSP 7000 Ultra-Harmonizer to his Burrenstone Studio and touring show.

"Eventide has been an integral part of my sound for nearly a decade," said Spillane. "In the past I have used the DSP4000 and the GTR4000 to create reverb effects for uilleann pipes in both recording and touring. The addition of the DSP7000 has given me all the familiar presets and options with a whole world of new features. The gear has been so incredibly reliable and easy to use that it is the principal of my studio outboard."

The DSP7000 Ultra-Harmonizer® is Eventide's most powerful stereo processor offering nearly 750 factory presets, each with its own unique algorithm. The DSP7000 offers the ability to create your own algorithm from over 230 different effects modules and is supported by VSIG™, Eventide's preset development tool available for PC and OSX. This high performance stereo processor features pristine 24-bit conversion and offers UltraShifter™, Eventide's best formant-corrected pitch shifter, optimized for voice.

Spillane's style spans the entire array of recorded music, from folk to rock, jazz to film scores. He has recorded with a wide range of artists as well, including Van Morrison, Sinead O'Connor, Paul Simon, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, and London Beat, to name a few. His signature sound can also be heard in numerous film scores from Michael Collins to Gangs of New York. Much of the work is recorded and produced in Spillane's Burrenstone Studio.

Burrenstone Studio is Spillane's personal creation, a studio set deep in the beauty of the west of Ireland overlooking the cliffs on the Atlantic Ocean. Burrenstone enjoys a level of peace and tranquility hard to match while at the same time offering today's most advanced recording technologies. The combination enables musicians to be at their most creative and gain the most from their recording session. "When creating this studio, I wanted to combine a creative atmosphere with cutting-edge technology," Spillane noted. "The result allows musicians and artists to heighten their creativity while expressing their craft in the best form possible. Burrenstone is a shimmering emerald for any artist looking for a creative environment."

Eventide effects have long been a staple of Spillane's productions and are well represented at Burrenstone Studio and in all his work. Summarized Spillane, "The proof is in the pudding. I've been using Eventide effects for years and on virtually every track of my last two albums. Now, with the DSP7000, I'll be able to take my productions at Burrenstone to the next level."
