DVD-RAM REWRITABLE ARCHIVE DRIVE

DVD-RAM archive drives provide economic Rewritable optical disk storage for Eventide VR320, VR240, and VR208HF digital audio logging recorders. Many innovations have been incorporated to produce an extremely reliable, economic and high performance storage alternative to DAT cassettes. All these innovations combine to give a double-sided recording capacity of 9.4GB; at the industry-standard compression rate of 16kbs ADPCM that translates to 1260 channel hours of voice communication archive storage per medium. DVD-RAM drives cost about the same as DDS DAT drives and DVD-RAM Rewritable media cost less than one cent per megabyte. The media is available from any computer supply store making easily purchased when needed by the system user. Eventide model VR320, VR240, and VR208HF logging recorders equipped with DAT archive drives can be easily upgraded to DVD-RAM archive drives.
