Creating and using an Upgrade Card (PC ONLY)

First, Create the upgrade card.

Required:

PC with an attached Compact Flash card reader/writer
Compact flash card 8MB or larger. See this technote for a list of recommended cards, as we do not ensure compatibility with every brand.
Software to extract data files from a ZIP file (if this option is selected)

Procedure (ZIP file):

Download (version 1.2) the appropriate update card software for a Compact Flash card in ZIP format from the Eventide web site. (Previous version 1.1.)
Use software capable of unzipping ZIP files to extract the data files from the ZIP file (e.g., WinZip or PKUNZIP).  Some versions of Windows XP can do this without extra software.
Copy the extracted files to the root of the Compact Flash card, i.e., not into any folder.

Procedure (self-extracting EXE):

Download (version 1.2) the appropriate update card software for a Compact Flash card in EXE format from the Eventide web site. (Previous version 1.1)
Insert a card into the Compact Flash reader.
Run the EXE file by double-clicking on its icon.  Note - some browsers will allow you to open the file without saving it to disk.
Replace any text in the "Extract to" box with the drive letter for your Compact Flash reader, followed by a colon and backslash (i.e., for drive E, enter E:\ ).

Next, Upgrade the BD600

Go through the SETUP screens and make a note of all your settings.
Power down the BD600
Insert the card you made in the card slot
Power up the BD600 while holding down the DUMP key.
When the update process is complete, the BD600 will instruct you to cycle power.
Confirm that the unit reboots with Version 1.2.
When it asks if you want to "clear setup," answer YES, and reconfigure the unit.

Be sure to download the new manual from the BD600 product page.
