Technical Employment at Eventide*

Eventide is a small company, with all the plusses and minuses that entails.  Minuses?  No lush personnel department showering you with forms, regulations, and cafeteria-style benefits that you may or may not want or need.

We offer an annual vacation (two weeks after the first year, more after longer employment).  We do have a health plan and 401K, and the usual days off for holidays and personal stuff.

Some of the plusses are pretty neat:

As we say elsewhere, "We typically look for experienced people who are capable of self-directed and creative work with a minimum of supervision."  If you are that, why would we (or anyone) want to waste your time or that of your supervisor to tell you where to click that mouse?  We've got a lot of ideas and a lot of products to get out.  That's your job, not filling out forms.

We do our best to make our design jobs interesting and fulfilling for you and profitable for us.  We hire our engineers to do engineering, and management's goal is to make that possible.  You need to cooperate in two ways:  First, you should actually enjoy engineering, electronics, computers, or whatever your specialty.  If you don't, please consider finding something you DO enjoy for your working life.  Second, there is a reason why they call it "work."  We really need to get a lot of stuff done, and done well.  If you don't have reasonable empathy for deadlines, quality, and corporate goals then maybe this wouldn't be the ideal position.
