Buying Direct from Eventide

Frequently we are asked, "Can one buy a product directly from Eventide?"  The short answer is, "Usually, but you probably don't want to."  Eventide has a large network of dealers, distributors, and representatives who promote and sell our products.  These people and companies deserve and receive our support for their efforts on our behalf, and typically receive it by making their profit on the difference between "wholesale" and "retail" pricing.  By the same token, many dealers compete among themselves and part of their competition is in pricing the products they sell.  Hence, the notion of "street price," which represents a discount from retail and a markup from wholesale.  Eventide only offers discounts to those who re-sell our products and who make various commitments to promote them.  Although we are willing to sell to "end users" we can only do so at list price.

By "shopping around" among dealers, frequently you can obtain a tradeoff among service, price, and delivery that suits your needs best.   Since Eventide has no local presence and must charge list price, buying from a dealer will almost always be to your advantage.

Although there are no exceptions to the "list price" policy, it may be more expeditious to buy small items (e.g., ROMs, cards, replacement parts) from us. The cost of multiple transactions for small amounts and extra handling steps both negates any discount you might be offered and erases any profit our dealer would otherwise make.
